Mercedes Montaño is a National and International Folk Dance Festival held in the city of Cali, Colombia. I was selected by the Cali Department of Culture, through the agency Ternario and its #CaliEsCulturaPopular campaign, to create the official visual identity for the festival's 14th edition in 2023.The client wanted to highlight the importance of children, who are the participants in the dance training programs and the key figures responsible for carrying the legacy of traditional dance to future generations. They also requested an emphasis on the territories from which most participants come. The concept therefore places children at the center of the composition, surrounded by diverse dance couples wearing traditional costumes representing different regions of Colombia. The territory expands and takes over the stage, with Cali serving as the platform that brings these cultural expressions together.
The project included the creation of the festival's official poster, along with visual adaptations for various social media platforms.

El Mercedes Montaño es un Encuentro Nacional e Internacional de Danzas Folclóricas celebrado en la ciudad de Cali, Colombia. Fui seleccionada por la Secretaría de Cultura de Cali, por medio de la agencia Ternario y su campaña #CaliesCulturaPopular para trabajar en la imagen oficial de su catorceavo Festival, año 2023.
El cliente desea resaltar la importancia de los niños, participantes de los semilleros y principales actores encargados de llevar el legado de la danza a las siguientes generaciones. También pidió que se resalte el territorio, de donde provienen la mayoría de los participantes. Se propone entonces a los infantes como epicentro rodeados de parejas diversas con trajes típicos de diferentes regiones en Colombia. El territorio se expande apoderándose del escenario, que es Cali, quien sirve de plataforma para su presentación.
Se genera el cartel oficial del evento y aplicaciones para diferentes redes sociales.
